Priscilla Leese

PRISCILLA lEESE Bruce Fayman was born and raised in San Diego, California. Much of Bruce’s early creative years were spent in the world of music.  A drummer and vocalist, Bruce moved to Los Angeles in 1979 to be part of the music scene in that city.  For the next ten years, he wrote songs, produced records, and performed with various bands in the area.   He moved back to San Diego and reunited with his brother Corey Fayman to pursue his music in the burgeoning music scene in San Diego enjoying considerable local success with their band, Bad Dog.

During this time, Bruce continued his education in the field of Journalism.  He also discovered his interest in photography through courses in Photojournalism.  Having grown up in a household filled with abstract art, Bruce found his voice in the digital medium where he seeks to blend the lines between photography and other 2D media.  His subject matter sprang from his fascination and obsession with invasive plants and their effect on the environment they inhabit.

His father, Lynn G. Fayman, a well-known abstract photographer whose work included hand-tinted Kodak Flexichromes, is also a key influence in Bruce’s work. Bruce currently teaches Graphic Design and Digital Photography at La Jolla Country Day School in La Jolla, California.  He lives with is wife, Katey, and their three children, Fritz, Flynn, and Faith in the San Diego area.
